We are absolutely delighted to introduce you to Sky Huang, who is currently the technical account manager in the CSD team within the Asia Pacific region for Yardi.
With over a decade of extensive experience in Real Estate Systems Accounting and Consulting, Sky specializes in retail and industry leasing. Her professional background includes roles as both a system operator and a super user, where she managed a range of functions including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), General Ledger (GL), and Financial Reporting for prominent real estate firms.
Since joining Yardi’s Shanghai team in 2017, she has leveraged her expertise to contribute significantly to the Client Services Department (CSD), providing exceptional client support and consulting services.
Let’s get to know her better.
What’s your job title and what do you like most about your job?
I am a Technical Account Manager in Group ‘International Asia Practice 1’, and I have a lot of contact with clients in my job, and I can interact with various users in different ways. It’s amazing because you can always find things that are different from you in others and learn a lot from them.
What could you not do without in your life?
I can’t live without my dog, because dogs are the best friends of humans. Without my best friend, my life would lose a lot of sunshine.
Name a good quality you see in yourself and a quality that you appreciate in other people/colleagues?
I think I am very patient (perhaps because I have a mischievous and energetic child), and I like the unknown. I maintain curiosity about everything I don’t know. What I admire the most is my colleagues’ persistence and persistent refusal to give up. Sometimes, when I face difficulties, I may back down, but my team encourages me and helps me to persevere, which is great.
Favourite movie of all time?
Princess Sissy! “When you feel sad and worried, then come here to open your mind and look at nature. From every tree, every flower, every living thing, you can see God is everywhere, you will get comfort and strength.” – This is my favorite dialogue from the movie.
Number of years’ experience in the field?
I have worked in the real estate finance field for over 5 years and in the finance field for over 10 years, I have been working at Yardi for almost 8 years now.
If you could jump on a plane right now, where would you go?
Canada, I’m going to visit my sister (it would be better if my parents could join and go together).
What’s your favourite Yardi product and why?
My favourite Yardi product is Elevate Lease Manager. This module is a series that can be extended to handle various details from a lease. Firstly, there are various lease types. Through the lease module, we can input the leases with different content terms into the system, and output various results that meet customer needs through parameter and scenario settings. This is very challenging and attractive because this module improves the existing workflows within the industry, as long as you can use it correctly.
What do you love to do when you’re not working?
When I’m not working, I like to grow flowers and keep pets. I have many flowers and different types of pets.
Top tip for keeping clients happy?
Based on my personal experience, Bona fides and Professionalism are the only trump cards.
If you could travel anywhere right now, where would you go? I want to go to Guizhou again. The scenery, delicious food and hospitable Guizhou people there are all worth traveling again.
