Company sets industry standard in security compliance for the seventh consecutive year.
Salt Lake City, Utah (PRWEB) December 13, 2013
Centershift, Inc. announced today that it has completed an examination of its security and internal controls for 2013 and has received its SSAE-16 SOC 1 Type II report. Formerly known as SAS 70, SOC 1 is published by the AICPA under the attestation standard SSAE 16 and involves undergoing an examination of policies, operating procedures and controls which are related to financial reporting of user entities by an independent auditor to objectively validate that the service organization meets its asserted control objectives.
“Centershift cuts no corners when it comes to the safety and security of our systems and our customers’ data”, said Brandon Wright, Centershift’s Director of Compliance. “Our largest customers, some of which are publicly traded REITs, absolutely rely on our SOC 1 to help ensure that the mission-critical management system they employ to manage their businesses are operationally sound.”
While there exist lesser compliance standards, Centershift is the only management software provider in the self-storage industry to obtain SOC 1 Type II compliance for seven consecutive years. Also, Centershift continues to maintain PCI-DSS 2.0, a rigorous security standard put in place by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) for all entities that store, transmit and process credit card data.
James Hafen, President and CEO of Centershift, added: “Our investment in operational integrity is significant, and our compliance efforts ultimately benefit all of our customers, not just the larger players. Compliance with this standard requires stringent internal policies related to software development and storing and accessing data and related hardware. In the end, all customers can rest assured that Centershift is doing all it can to ensure their data and systems are secure.”
